MINUTES


Chairman Ward Mazzucco called the meeting to order at 8 PM.

Upon motion by Julian Kien, minutes of the March 25, 2004, were unanimously approved.

The Treasurer's report was passed in light of the absence of Gary Miyashiro.

Ward Mazzucco noted that Lawrence Matte submitted a letter of resignation, because of other commitments, and that he sent Larry a note thanking him for his service to the RTC.

Ward Mazzucco gave an update on the dates and places for the various conventions in May.

Christine Polio reported on the success of the Kudlow event.

Ward Mazzucco reported on adjustments to committees and emphasized the key roles of the Registration, Vacancy, Campaign, and Publicity Committees.

Julie Gorman reported on plans for the May 21 fund-raiser for Hank Bielawa.

Tom Derderian urged everyone to come to the April 15 town meeting to support the ordinance against underage drinking. He noted that the Democratic Town Committee refrained from endorsing the ordinance.

Paul Streitz, of Darien, visited and spoke about his pursuit of the Republican nomination for the race against Christopher Dodd for U.S. Senate. He emphasized a platform against "outsourcing", immigration, and globalization. Later, Frank DeSalvo and others commented on the presentation.

The Hon. Natalie Ketcham, First Selectman, reported on a variety of topics.

A brief report on the budget followed. A motion to adjourn was unanimously passed. Next meeting May 3, 2004.
