MINUTES


Minutes. The meeting was called to order at 8:03 pm. A discussion of the minutes from the November 14, 2005 meeting ensued. After some discussion, Tom Derderian made a motion, seconded by David Lewson, to approve the minutes with amendments. Motion passed unanimously.

Ward Mazzucco reported that John Shaban has volunteered to be a Redding coordinator with the Rell campaign and Tom Derderian has volunteered to be a Redding coordinator for the Shays campaign. If other RTC members would like to share these duties, please notify Ward.

Ward announced that Joe Macchio has resigned from the Board of Assessment Appeal since he has take a job with the Assessor's Office, which creates a conflict of interest. Tom Preston is being recommended by the Vacancy Committee to fill this vacancy.

Ward discussed the proposed RTC slate for the caucus on January 10, 2006. Gerry Casiello, on behalf of the Vacancy Committee, proposed the following slate:

The nomination of the slate by Gerry was seconded by Julian Kien and passed unanimously. It was also recommended by Gerry Casiello that Lewis Brey and Urs Furrer be elected to fill the two current vacant RTC positions (one of which is the result of the recent resignation of Tim Anderson). This will be voted on at our January meeting.

Rep. John Stripp gave a brief overview of recent legislative action, including the campaign finance reform bill.

Spencer Brown announced that George Gallo will be the next Chairman of State Central.

Gerry Sarnelli gave a brief overview of the Voter Vault software program and its capabilities in targeting likely voters.

Andrea Cotton agreed to work on a blueprint for reorganizing the RTC, which she will distribute prior to the next meeting.

Natalie Ketcham gave an update and overview of the Georgetown Land Development project. Burdin Hickok mentioned that he was involved with the Black Box Theater to be build on the site and that members may contact him for more information.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:40 pm.
