REDDING REPUBLICAN TOWN COMMITTEE MINUTES
Ward announced: 1. Anyone interested in being a delegate to the State
Convention please let me know. Ward initiated discussion on the Sunday, June 25th RTC Fundraiser for the Hon. Chris Shays that is being graciously hosted by Linda & Bob Koch at their home. Mr. Tom Derderian stressed the importance or re-electing Shays and announced that the cost of the event would be $100/person and $150/couple. Please forward on names of suggested invitees to Tom as soon as possible. There was a discussion on how the RTC can best promote this event and how best to lend support to the Koch's so that they don't bear an undue burden. Motion: Move that the RTC spend up to $500, at the discretion of the Chairman, to support to the fundraiser at the Koch's. Frank DeSalvo, John Shaban. Approved. Unanimous. Christine Polio will discuss with Linda Koch. Mr. Frank DeSalvo initiated discussion and voiced support for the Region 9 Referendum on 23 May. Ward initiated discussion on potential cooperation with the Democrats to increase participation and interest by townspeople on town boards and activities. Mr. Urs Furrer explained that he and Mr. Trevor Furrer have adopted several soldiers in Iraq and are recommending that the RTC adopt a platoon or individual soldiers. "Adoption" includes sending regular care packages to show our support. Popular items to send include pop tarts, slim jims, socks, and phone cards. Steps to be taken include: 1. RTC tent for Georgetown Days Mrs. Christine Polio announced that the RTC has signed up for a booth for Georgetown Days on 11 June. A sign up sheet to help out will be emailed soon. The meeting adjourned at 9:04 PM. Respectfully submitted,
