MINUTES


Minutes. Minutes of the August and September meetings were unanimously approved.

Treasurer's Report. The treasurer's report was unanimously approved.

Election Day. The tent cost of $310.05 was approved. There was a discussion of supplies for the tent, manning the tent, and posting signs for candidates.

Tom Derderian - Website update: Brent Colley now up to date with minutes, candidate pages, etc. would welcome pictures of any events.

Vacancy Committee: no activity at the present time.

Tom Morrison - update on youth efforts: Meeting this week toward creating youth political groups. Registration deadline for the upcoming national elections is Oct. 19th. If you turn 18 before 11/1 you can register up to 11/1.

Hank Bielawa Campaign: Bartlett is a tough opponent, requiring a lot of time and effort to counter his attacks. Remind people to have letters to the editor put in the Pilot. 11/19 Wine and cheese fundraiser at the Spinning Wheel; $35/person, $60/ couple. Additional upcoming fundraisers in this area and in Hartford.

Gerry Casiello: Reminded everyone of need for letters to the editors, which he is coordinating.

Shays Campaign: Update from Eric Mundrum.

Ward Mazzucco: Discussion of the Barlow project and its effect on next year's election. A lively discussion followed concerning the Barlow project with contributions from most members. Frank DeSalvo provided factual updates as he is on the financial oversight committee for region 9.

Norma Riess: A plea for fund raising help for David Cappiello as well as the Bush Cheney campaign.

Natalie Ketcham: Melinda Fonda hired as town Assessor.

Siting council update: We have been successful in stating our case for a view shed analysis.

G&B: There will be a Smart Growth reception on Friday 10/8 at 8:30-10:00am at G&B site.
