A former elementary-school teacher, Freedman admits, “I got into it quite by accident when my husband Samuel, an attorney, agreed to be the Republican nominee in the 1972 race for the Connecticut House of Representatives. I knew nothing about running an election campaign, but we recruited my mother and her friends and sat in this dining room stuffing envelopes—and he won.” Learn More March 4, 2008: Republicans Elect Officers for New Term (Redding, March 4) In it's meeting on Monday evening, The Redding Republican Town Committee elected officers for the next two-year term. Ward Mazzucco, the current Chairman, was re-elected to that position for his third full term; Lewis Brey was re-elected Vice Chairman; Michael Thompson was re-elected Secretary; and Gary Miyashiro was re-elected Treasurer.
