7th Annual Pig Roast

State Senator Toni Boucher (R-26th District) was guest of honor on Sunday at a pig roast sponsored by the Redding Republican Town Committee. The event was held at the Redding Community Center and was attended by approximately eighty guests including State Representatives John Shaban (R-134th District) and Dan Carter (R-2nd District), Redding First  Selectman Natalie Ketcham, Donald Takacs, Redding Selectman, State Representative Gail Lavielle (R-143rd District ) and Hal Clark, Wilton Selectman.

RTC Chair Ward Mazzucco cited Senator Boucher's "tireless work on behalf of our town and district" and lauded her as "a champion for the cause for greater fiscal responsibility in Hartford." Ms Boucher's Senatorial District includes the communities of Bethel, New Canaan, Redding, Ridgefield, Weston, Westport and Wilton. In the Senate, she serves as Deputy Minority Leader and Ranking Member of the General Assembly’s Transportation Committee, Education Committee and of its Higher Education Committee. She also serves as a member of the General Assembly’s Finance, Revenue & Bonding Committee. Following a good natured "roasting," Mr. Mazzucco and First Selectman Ketcham presented the Senator with a plaque recognizing her outstanding commitment and service to the town and district. State Representatives Shaban and Carter then presented her with a special citation from the State Legislature officially recognizing her leadership in Hartford.

In accepting her awards, Senator Boucher thanked her supporters, saying that "the real award goes to all of you for seeing the need to bring balance and fiscal responsibility back to our state and local governments and electing leaders who are not afraid to stand up for that.
